Egg laying location help

my chickens have a coop with 10 laying boxes but i find only about 3 eggs in it then i find other eggs in the garage, stumps, and the woods. how can i get them to lay them all in the coop?

, It would probably help if, you kept them lock in their coop/run for a week+ and put golf balls or fake eggs in the nesting boxes. Don't let them out until they are all using the nesting boxes consistently. When you do let them out make sure they know how to get back in to their nesting boxes during the day.

Chickens lay eggs to make more chickens, not so I can enjoy over easy eggs with my bacon every morning. They lay in out of the way places because the three weeks a hen incubates her eggs are the most dangerous three weeks in her adult life. Good luck changing the basic instinct of chickens. Let us know how it goes.
