As a rule my birds do not nest through the winter. I find they will begin to nest when the first rains come after winters arrival. This usually occurs in the middle of February. This year we are experience it now and my birds seem to be responding. There are always one or two exceptions to the rule especially with new ♀ pigeons that are in their first year of laying and became sexually active late in the year. Why is it that some of my pair lay during winter and some wait till spring...All are around the same age, breed, and live in the same type of housing....I'm thinking the one female is just a powerhouse...
