Egg Laying Question

I have a hen who has been setting on her nest for 2 hours, it seems like it's taking a long time for her to lay the egg. At what point do I need to be concerned? Now? Or, give her some time? Thanks

Of course as soon as I asked this question she laid her egg... She's now roaming happily around the yard

Hens are like women -- I'm sure you know mothers who have gone into labor in the car on the way to the hospital and others who took two days

I've been worrying about my hen too. It seems like it's taking longer and longer for her to lay. She's at 4 hours today! But once she lays, she seems perfectly fine. Eggs are normal-sized too.

one of my girls needs 3 or 4 half hour sessions in the box before she finally lays. sometimes the others get pretty annoyed...nest hog!
