Egg laying questions

Have any of you ever had experience with some birds just shutting off production and then others continuing normal?

None of my brown egg layers (RIRs, BOs) have laid in weeks, yet my easter eggers continue to lay normally. At first I thought it was the heat, but its been cooler lately. Are easter eggers much more heat tolerant than the other breeds?

I would think that they've been laying in the bushes or something, but during the business week they are confined to the run and still no eggs.

I'm so confused!! What could be going on? They are all older hens, but why would so many just stop and then others keep laying?

Some of my hens did the same thing. Apparently they went through a molt. They are back to laying eggs again but they are smaller than before. My EEs never stopped and lay the same size eggs but its too early yet for them to go through a molt.
