I have 7 hens, 1 female peckin duck and 2 bantam hens. All were laying eggs last week at about 75% rate everyday. A week ago it just stopped. Every single one of them. I haven't gotten 1 duck egg. I've gotten 2 bantam eggs and 2 regular eggs in the last week. What gives?

Has something upset them? -- snake around? -- Could they need worming, vitamins, ?? What has changed during the week? Loud construction noise near by -- other new pets? Change in feed??

a snake can be really sneaky and swallow the eggs -- come and leave and one would never know -- You could put a powder of DE around the coop -- so if there was something taking eggs -- you may be able to see tracks (of course that would require smooth surface and dry weather }-- a game cam aimed at the door of the coop?

Just for the "ick" of it.....

I could believe snake, except he would be swallowing 4-7 eggs everyday. There are no shells or signs that the eggs were there. 3 weeks ago something got a few of my hens. They acted really strange around the start of it now that you mention it. They didn't want to come out into their fenced in area. None were injured or missing so I didn't pay much attention I guess. There is always water and layer feed available, so I just don't know what to try.
