Egg laying synchronicity

Probably a stupid newbie question..... but, do hens start laying at the same time? I ask because I have 4 hens, all different breeds, one is 16 weeks, one 17 weeks and two are 20 weeks. None are laying.

Will I find that they'll all start to lay at different times? Or once one starts, do they all get in "sync" hormonally and start popping them out like there's no tomorrow, so to speak?

i had 1 start laying, 4 days later another started, an am still waiting for the rest, the other hens are very interested an sometimes gather an watch

They each lay at their own pace. We have 20 girls right now born in Mid-march. One started laying several weeks ago, now we have around 7 that are laying. Still waiting on the rest to "grow up" and quit free-loading!
