So I am newer to having chickens. However I have two chickens I am not sure how to help insure that they lay their eggs in the chicken coop. I let my chickens free roam at certain times of the day really from2:30 until dark. I have other chickens who are laying just fine but lay in the morning in the nesting box. How do I get these two bantams to lay in the nesting box instead of randomly in the yard. They are white egg layers of that makes a difference.

Can you share more about your set up and flock? Are they all bantams? How big is your coop? How many birds? Pictures of coop and nest boxes might help.

Sure I would be happy to give ya more. I have 11 hens with 2 ducks. I have a chicken coop that is 10x15. I have two road island reds, two bantams and the rest are just a mix of a lot of different breeds. My bantams for the longest time always layed eggs in the nesting box just like my road island reds do daily but since they lay at 5 ish that’s when they are roaming.. they used to still go in the coop and lay eggs but recently for the last three weeks stopped.
