Hi I have 6 Rhode Island reds and I am wondering how can you tell if they are getting ready
To lay an egg? Tonight I noticed that one was acting different
She was walking in her coop but she was squatting and doing
what appeared to be trying to scratch her feathers in her back. Thanks
any insite would be good

Their combs and wattles turn red. They investigate the nest boxes. They squat down and open their wings a little, inviting mating. None of those by themselves or together mean they will lay tomorrow, but they are getting close. If yours are moving around while squatting its something else.
