When should young chicks start laying??

On average pullets start laying aged 24 weeks, but it depends on the breed, time of year etc. Some breeds start laying at 20 weeks and certain breeds may start as late as 6-8 months. Also if they are due to start laying in the middle of winter you may have to wait until Spring for your first egg.
