Egg laying ???

When do you know when your chickens are going to start laying?? Is there a sign?? I have a two Barred Rock and I think they are close to being 20 to 24 week old??
I also have a couple of ameracuna about 15 weeks old and 1 Sussex and a mystery bird
I love them all.

Sometimes they'll start hanging out in the nest boxes before they start laying. It's just so hard to wait, isn't it? My Speckled Sussex is on week 23 and nothing yet. She is in the coop more often though....

Normally, chickens start laying at 24 weeks, but it depends on the breed. But 24 weeks is the average.
Yes, it is hard to wait!
