I've got 3 hens around 7-8 months old. All 3 have been laying for over a month and their shells are nice and hard. I supplement with oyster shell. I also have ceramic eggs in the laying boxes. The youngest ee has been pecking the tip of her own egg (she leaves tbe other 2 alone). Not sure how to break her of this habit as she's the only one doing it, she doesn't break the membrane, and nothing wrong with the egg that i can see.
