Egg piped 34 hours ago..Should i help?... Chick is FINE

In my experience IF the rest of the hatch was fast and clean, and you have a straggler that is 2 or more days behind the others, and you help it out, it will die anyway-not because you helped it because you think its stuck in the shell, but it has some other problem and is too weak to hatch-thats why it didnt hatch. On the other hand- IF the hatch was very drug out and not very successful, there was most likely a temperature issue and human error that is preventing the chick from hatching and if you help it(provided it is READY to hatch) it will be fine and healthy with no problems.

start where it pipped and begin to "zip" around the aircell, as the chick would, very slowly peice by peice. If you see the smallest amount of blood stop, wet the membrane, wrap the egg in a damp (not wet washcloth without covering the opened area) and try again in a couple hours

Be certain to have some warm water to put on the membrane... it will show you if there are any blood vessels.

I'll bet there aren't any after 34 hours.

First hatch in February, I helped out three chicks. They are all VERY alive and well. One had spradle leg and we fixed that with a bandaid. Total I've helped out four. Last one I helped out is awesome and very healthy.
