Hooray! One of my 2 eggs pipped this morning! But the humidity was down to 50 so I poured some water through the hole in the top. It usually lands in the water dish below but this time it landed on the paper towel. So now the eggs are sitting on a wet paper towel. Is that ok?
The other issue- I had the thermometer up against the eggs last night, and I thought for sure I killed the eggs anyway, so I broke the golden rule, moved the thermometer and candled the egg. Well, within 2 seconds my candler broke as if to say 'you're not suppose to be doing that' and I got flustered and put the egg back in the bator. I am now worried I put it in on the opposite side it was originally laying for lockdown. Since the air cell sits at an angle to the side you layed them down for lockdown, could the chick pip in the wrong side and suffocate?
