egg position for hatching

I have 12 eggs in the incubator in a egg carton. when I lock down and stop turning would it be best to remove them from the carton or hatch them in the carton??

I have hatched in an egg carton and I have just layed them down on the floor too. I like the egg cartons because then the other chicks can't just shove the un hatched ones around. I find it really makes no difference which way. It's just personal preference.
