Egg Problems

Hello all, one of my girls is having issues and I am not sure what is going on. She is 1 1/2 years old, 3rd in the pecking order (of 6 hens). They free range 1/2 the day and are in the run (with access to their coop) the other half of the day. Yesterday she layed a clear rubbery egg (like you sometimes see when they are first laying). Then last night she was kinda rigid, not moving around too much, standing in one place and puffed feathers. Today she is acting just fine, but this is the egg she had today. Any thoughts, knowledge you can share?? Thanks in advance!

If she was acting weird last night, and is better today, she was probably egg bound.

Some kind of glitch in the system.

I've seen them stand staring of into the distance just before a soft shell egg is passed.

Is that egg pictured a hard shelled egg covered in membrane, or is part of it soft shelled too? A completed(shelled egg) can literally back up and get membrane applied again before continuing it's journey outward.

Why it happened, I dunno.
Hopefully it's just glitch and won't happen again.
If it continues, then further investigation would be warranted
