I have 6 hens who are all around 9-10 months old - typically since they started laying we were sure of 4-5 eggs a day and sometimes 6. Recently, for about 2 or 3 weeks, we've been down to 1, 2 or 3 eggs a day. I haven't changed their food, they get some scraps a few times a week and they are behaving normally otherwise. We did just find one egg underneath the hen house but just the one. We did introduce 3 new buffs about 6 weeks ago (stupid, I know, having subsequently read the advice), one of the buffs died suddenly 3 weeks ago and I've been monitoring them all since and all seem healthy. Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

Maybe they are laying them somewhere that your not looking? Maybe they just haven't adjusted well to the other chickens?

Could they be molting?? Sometimes it is not real obvious. If they are a year old and have been laying all winter, then it is likely they will molt soon, and egg production drops off when they molt.
