I just got 2 Muscovy ducklings, and I'm wondering what their eggs are going to be like. Are they good eating? I read that they are more of a meat breed... Any information you can give me would be great!

As far as I know, they are just as good as the mallard-derived ducks' eggs. I have been told Muscovies are more seasonal layers than some other breeds, that they lay a good many eggs while they are laying.

What kind of setup do you have? How are you managing the water situation? That is usually the thing that trips people up at first, till they get a system going.

Hmm...I'm interested to see what their laying habits will be. I have several Pekin ducks that lay quite well all year. Thanks for the info! =)
For the rest of my flock, I have a medium-sized coop for the ducks & chickens, and they free range during the day. There's a waterer in the coop and a kiddie swimming pool for the ducks to play in, which they love... X) The ducklings just have a normal chick waterer which they also like to play in. =) I'll definitely be changing their bedding quite often.
