egg question

Got this egg today and it is really rough. Is it okay?

It should be just fine. I get eggs with rough shells from one of my hens (I think it's in her genetics) and they are fine. You can add some oyster shell as a side dish to see if she's lacking in calcium.

That's actually excessive calcium......
....if it only happens once in a while, I wouldn't worry about it.

If one bird does it all the time, then it is probably just that birds system that is out of whack and probably nothing to be done and it really isn't problem unless the bumps are very sharp. I have a couple hens that have bumpy eggs regularly.

If all your birds do it, then it's time to look at the feed and supplements you are using.
