hello,
so I have some questions about egg laying and such.

1. how long can the eggs stay in the coop before they go bad?
-ive heard they can stay for a while as long as hens are not sitting on them..

2.If the egg is not fertilized will she still be broody or do hens get broody only with fertilized eggs?
- I do have a rooster..

3.how long can eggs stay in the fridge??

I should know this! but I appreciate all of the help!

THANK YOUU!

you can leave eggs in the coop for 1-2 days as long as its not super hot out. a hen can go broody if the eggs are fertile or not.eggs can stay in the fridge for about 3 weeks to one month.

I am fairly new also, but I think I have read enough about this. I will try to help!

1. I believe that eggs will be OK a few days in the coop or on a counter, although if it's hot, better safe than sorry! I always collect mine daily and out them right into the fridge. I believe that a hen will often wait up to 10 days before she starts to sit, so obviously they are not rotten.

2. I don't think hens know if eggs are fertilized or not. Certain breeds are more apt to go broody than others.

3. I believe fresh eggs last about as long as store eggs in the fridge - a few weeks.
