I have a hen sitting on an egg, today is day 21. I checked this morning about 9 hours ago, and there were small cracks where the external pip was started! I just went out to lift up the hen and check on it, and it was rolled on to its external pip. I rolled it back over so that the external pip was facing up because I assumed that would make it easier to get out, than the external pip facing the wooden floor?

Just seeing if that’s what I should have done, or if I just need to butt out at this point?

If a hen is hatching I usually leave them be. Eggs can roll back and forth while hatching. I've been guilty of messing with pipped eggs without problems.
