My chickens have just started laying in Dec, there's at least 1 or 2 that lay perfectly oval eggs instead of 1 end being narrower than the other, and every few days one is elongated and narrower the rest. Are these things that resolve over time? I haven't found any oddities when cracking them open.

Just the way some hens work. Egg shape can change, but often doesn't. I hope that's not a problem for you?

Not a problem, just wasn't sure if shape was something early layers eventually work out. I've read shape only matters when hatching, I have no plans to hatch any unless a hen goes broody I'd let her try. I store the eggs pointed end down in the carton so when I get these oval eggs the kids and I debate which end goes down lol it's funny watching them flip the egg trying to figure it out

Beginning layers sometimes don't have the finer points of egg-shaping figured out, it seems. But even my mature girls will sometimes lay elongated eggs with no real pointy end. Your girls sound normal to me. Hope they continue to keep the kids busy!
