It's been a while since I've posted anything about my girls. We've been having so much fun watching them and seeing each one of them with its own personality. We have our six girls and lately we have been getting 5 eggs regular and 6 eggs a couple times a week. Here's my question.....When we first started getting eggs, the shells were smooth and different shades of brown. We had spent some time price shopping for a place to get feed and we bought our first 25 lb bag of feed from and Amish farmer that has a tack shop of sorts and also sells feed and seed. Lately, we've noticed the shells seem to be getting a lighter brown, and they are rough and spotty. Could the feed change cause the egg change? There feed is a mash and we give oyster shell plus numerous treats. Any ideas or suggestions?

It certainly could be the feed, but it could also be the time of year. Or it could be that they are still new layers.
