Question for you guys, is this normal in quail eggs? I mean those blackish and whiteish bumps. I see them from time to time. Maybe there's a deficiency of something?

I understand masking - what about bumping? these brown spots are raised - look like bumps (take a close look at the picture)

Some of those lighter bumps are excess calcium. Perfectly normal. Better to have a bit extra than not enough and thin shells. Part of those raised areas also looks like just a dirty egg with dirt stuck to it.

Thanks, TwoCrows. Also, any idea why sometimes they lay small eggs? Like twice as small.

Young layers are prone to laying tiny eggs, yolkless eggs, thin shelled eggs, etc.... As they age and get their egg laying machines in gear, they then generally lay regularly sized eggs.

Yes, that's what I thought too. But all of my hen are 7 month old and have been laying before. Got two small eggs during last week.

Diet, changes in the weather like quickly turning cold or hot, stresses or things creeping in the night, illness, hormones etc...all effect egg laying. These changes can cause them to lay funky eggs.
