I heard that will actually train them to eat their own eggs...

It seems like as long as they're really well-crushed, and you're not leaving a bunch of egg in the shell, there's no similarity between what we're giving 'em and what they're laying. Don't feed 'em raw eggs, or whole shells, and you should be fine.

Mine didn't really like the egg shell alone so what I do is drop whole eggs into the blender with some plain yougurt and puree then scramble them and they don't even know they are eating the shell b/c it's grounded up so much.
