Have any of you shipped eggs via UPS or Fed Ex? I was just looking up rates online, if you choose the 3-day ground delivery option, it looks like it's about $5 more for the package size I used as an example. Of course that varies depending on where you are, and where you're shipping. I entered 4 lbs., 12" X 12" X 12" box, using my packaging, to do the calculations.

I'm just wondering whether people feel it's worth the extra money, and does it really improve the odds of the eggs arriving undamaged? And, in my case, it's a 60 mile round trip to a manned Fed Ex drop off site, (if I'm shipping) I don't know how far it would be for any of the people I've bought eggs from before.

I just want to get a consensus of how people feel about this.
Thanks in advance whoever responds.

As many times as I've seen posts about damaged eggs, I'd think somebody might have tried alternative shipping. Or had customers request it, maybe?

Anybody?
