Recently I had a broody hen setting on eggs. Any way eggs got moved to incubator to hatch. I didn't pick the eggs she was sitting on and some are small eggs but came from standard size hens. Although they are Danish Brown Leghorn eggs that kind of run small anyway. But the question is one of the small eggs hatched and this very small Danish Brown Leghorn sits looking at me. He or she is Soo small compared to the other chicks. Is that because of the egg Size? The chick which I named "Weeble" is getting around fine and full of energy, just so small like a bantam. Will the little one catch up in growth to the other ones or will it always be small? I am just thinking about future flock status. If the little one will do ok in the flock. Any comments welcome. But I just love my little "Weeble".
