I know that the number of eggs reduces as Fall/Winter are upon us, but does the egg size also reduce? Our girls (8) have been laying large/extra-large eggs and within the last week or so the eggs are all no larger than medium. They have a great diet (feed, loads of fenced in yard, suet, pears, pumpkins, etc), they get lots of fresh air and added light in the morning and evening.

Any info and/or suggestions would be appreciated.

Sometimes when a hen comes back from molting the egg size can be smaller than they were before she stopped. Usually though they quickly go back to their normal or even slightly larger size.

Or it may be you've got some birds laying that haven't been for a while.

I think that the weather conditions can also affect egg size. If the hen has to use more energy to stay warm, she will not have as much to put into egg making. JMO
