Egg Song as a Calling Card

I swear my 8 little RIRs have learned that if they sing their egg song, I'll come & check on them & maybe give them a treat or let them out!! They are 21 weeks old & I started getting eggs 2 weeks ago. So of course I'm still excited about getting an egg.

This morning, I've heard the egg song at least 3 times & have yet to get an egg. I even looked around to make sure one wasn't hidden someplace other than the nest boxes. No such luck.

I think the little darlings have realized that if they sing a certain way, I'll come see them. Little Sneaks!!

Seems like your training is going well. My girls have learned that if i"m not out there 30 minutes before dusk all they have to do is come up on the porch and peck on the patio doors and I will come out with their boss. I think they tell time better than I do.
