I heard it!!!!!! my only layer has already layed this morning, and she doesnt do it. I was sitting in my room and I heard it loud and clear. I bet my neighbors could hear it! Soooooo how long do I have to wait now????

One of mine started her song last week. Nothing yet. I am in the process of painting some plastic eggs to put in the nest box. We'll seeeee........

The good news is that it IS coming.

Mine sang for at LEAST 3 weeks before laying.

I have 3 who are all laying now, within the last 8 days.

The Cuckoo Maran sings the egg song ALL DAY LONG.

The Golden Sex Link hasn't sung it even once....since she started 8 laying an egg a day, 8 days ago.

I don't know about the Leghorn. I wasn't home all afternoon and we came home to a bright white egg from her. But if I hear the egg song in the back yard and look out there...it's the Maran every time.

I think some of them just like yelling their heads off, and some don't think it's a big deal.
