Egg Song - No Eggs

I believe one may have molted. But not sure the other one did. They are all the exact same age.

The rooster is usually inside the coop when singing what I had heard was the egg song. They do not free range because my yard is not fenced. So they are always in a 9x12 run with a small tractor coop inside the run for now. My boys are going to build a bigger coop for me so they’ll have a little more room. I keep thinking since the hens have been squawking I’ve been expecting them to start laying again. They just started being somewhat consistent. Then boom cold snap. Now we are back out of it. But 2 eggs total this week so far. Ugh!😩

I don't know where you live or what breed your birds are but if you are in the northern hemisphere and at least one of your birds had molted, it tells me they hatched very early in 2025 so I would surmise the dearth of eggs is related to day length vis a vis dark period much more than any effect of cold. Once most breeds of hens are in production, temperature and weather have little or no effect om ovulation. light/dark period is the greater impact on production.

Oh okay. I’m in Oklahoma if that makes a difference. We are getting more daylight hours. My birds were hatched 2-27-2025. I think I mentioned they were a year old. Maybe not. They had recently started laying pretty regularly. The hen that molted started laying about two-three weeks sooner than my other hen. And I was just saying after we got hit with another little cold snap right after that is when they stopped laying. Now that the weather has gotten warmer I thought they’d start laying again. But I think I’ve only gotten 3 eggs from my hens over the last week and a half. IDK why. I’m still new to chickens.
