Egg supplements?

Are 3 yr old hens done laying decent eggs or is there something to feed them besides adding oyster shell? They already get that and have since they started laying. We're getting soft shelled eggs or even some that seem to have no shells.

Have you tried feeding a straight formulated layer feed?

If you have hybrids, egg quality problems are a given with age unfortunately.

I have been feeding layer feed since they started laying. Also, these are Buff Orps and we have one RIR that is under a year and a terrific layer. Our girls always were great layers so I just wondered if it's age related. I've never had one be egg bound either but wonder if that can happen more with them having the abnormal eggs now. Not that these eggs would cause it but thinking if they are laying weirdly, maybe other issues can happen also.
