Anyone know what this is? We went to use one of our eggs and this is what we found. We collect eggs daily.

I cannot tell what that is from your photo, looks alien like. Sometimes gunk from the oviduct lining ends up in the egg. I gag, than toss them out and don't eat eggs for a while. I wouldn't be concerned unless it's a common thing.

I can't tell much from the photo, I think that's a yolk at that shiny spot but I'm not sure. Hens sometimes slough off bits of body parts inside their body cavity. Occasionally some of that can get into the internal egg making factory. Two things might happen.

If a yolk is starting down that internal egg making factory at the same time as that material it can show up inside a regular egg, that's called a meat spot. It happens more than you might think. The reason you don't see any in the commercial eggs you buy is that they electronically candle their eggs and take out any that have surprises inside like that. If a capillary blood vessel breaks when the yolk is released you can get a blood spot. Those are not harmful and are sold to places that break the eggs before they are sold like a bakery as long as they aren't too bad. They are yucky, that's a good reason to break any of our eggs into a separate bowl before you mix them in anything.

If that chunk of material starts down the internal egg making factory without a yolk the hen can build an egg around it. That does not happen often but may be the cause of a lot of the tiny yolkless eggs pullets sometimes lay. Another reason to break them into a separate bowl before you use them, especially the smaller ones.
