Best in Show--yeah sometimes it does feel like it. It's really only hectic for me when it's my Association putting on the show.
Most of the time it's not so dramatic. The vast majority of the people who show are good people who just really love birds.
A zip tie on the cage door really does stop a lot of the foolishness. That and not getting in such a rush to leave the show. Everybody seems to be running out the door these days. An extra 10-15 mintues to double check that you are taking your birds, and that you have found all or your birds isn't a whole lot to ask.

That's what most exhibitors do---stick around the whole time and frequently check on their birds, as well as everyone else's. Visiting with other exhibitors is at least half the fun. For a week long fair, no, folks don't usually stay around the whole time, but there is usually more staff. Also, the fairs are usually not where you hear of birds being taken.
