Egg that looks like something is attached to it

My first through was umbilical cord even though I know they aren't mammals. So first should I be concerned about the chicken on going? All them seemed to be walking normal but half were already up ont he roost. I am pretty sure my only chickens laying are less than a year old.

That's an immature yolk. The odd thing sticking out the top of the egg must be the attachment of the cuticle of the yolk.
