egg timeing

Please tell me how long I can leave my eggs in the hen boxes,before they go to bad to eat?
Trying to get one of my girls to go broody,but also don't won't to waste a lot of good eating eggs.
Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated

How about putting some easter eggs filled with sand in the box and just collecting the real eggs daily? Does that work to make a hen broody? I didn't know you could do that.

I've heard that, but I won't her(which ever one decided to go broody )to at least be sitting on 6 to 8 eggs,come on folks need help here please! !
