Egg Tooth Gone - Can it Still Zip Out?

Just noticed that one of my peachicks that pipped about 24 hours ago is missing it's egg tooth, can it still zip out?

If any of you are curious, the answer is yes, they can zip after losing their egg tooth!

Closer inspection revealed that the egg too was still there.

Lesson learned? When in doubt, wait, then wait some more.
