Wednesday morning, I got two chicks and two ducklings. When I got them, they all had their egg teeth. They lost them that same day though. I was wondering, at what age do they loose their egg teeth? I'm trying to calculate approximately what day they hatched. Any ideas? Thx in advance.

Eggs teeth aren't really needed after a chick has hatched. Some chicks may loose their egg teeth the day after they hatch or I've even had some loose theirs until day 4. It can vary.

Yes I know they don't need them, I was just wondering about what age they were when they lost them. I got some chicks from the feed store last Friday, and they had and lost their egg teeth that same day. I was wonder what age they would loose it because I wanted to know approximately what day they hatched.

Well I guess it defiantly varies since Oreo's still have their egg teeth and they're 3 weeks old..

I have 1 silkie chick that still has its egg tooth, everyone is 2 weeks old... but only this 1 chick still has it.
