Egg Tracker - iOS and Android App

Hi! I'm fairly new to this website. I'm an iOS and soon to be Android developer. I have a few apps already on the App Store and I'm excited to be working on another.

I own several chickens and had the idea of creating an app for devices that would allow you to easily, simply track the number of eggs your chickens are laying each day. Then over time you could see ups and downs and statistics. You could also notice and account for low egg production. First, though, I want to see what ideas you folks have about it and if you have any interest in this sort of app. It could also be made into a website.

Please let me know any ideas you have!

You should totally make something that keeps track of incubating eggs. We could mark eggs as quitters, what hatched... Etc. It could calculate hatch rates and stuff like that:)

I would love develop chicken apps game as well, but am not sure where to start :)

I'm interested to see some of your apps.

I am super excited about this and have had the same idea for some time now too-glad to see someone actually doing it!
I tried awhile back to get a developer friend to do it, but it just never happened.
There are two apps I found online already but neither really meets my needs.
Egg tracker is one and it is more about the weight of the eggs which I don't care about and the other is for people selling eggs and tracking expenses and the like.
All I want is a simple calendar app where I can track the number of eggs I collect each day, and create graphs over time.
Almost like someone tracking weight or fitness or other such info-it seems so easy.
Ideally, it would have a picture or name of each chicken (I only have three now) and also an unknown count for when I don't know for sure who it was. I track this in a calendar now and have an excel spreadsheet. You would of course need to be able to add and delete birds over time too.
I also saw someone on this forum had a speradsheet with all sorts of graphs that looked cool, but the link did not work anymore when I tried it.
It would also be neat to be able to account for periods of Broodyness or molting, when you know that chicken is not laying, and track how long it lasts and when they start laying again. Also, at times when you are away and say your caretakers are collecting the eggs, you would need to be able to skip periods in the calendar and just report what you know, when you are home so it should allow for breaks in the data collecting.

Glad to see your interest!

Unfortunately I haven't seen the interest for this app I was hoping for so I won't be developing it. However, if this is something you're interested in, I can design, develop and publish the app for you as a project. It would be around $80 for me to do this for browsers and make a website for it or around $100 for me to make an iOS OR Android app for it. Please private message me if you're interested and I'd be happy to discuss details.

Sorry for not developing it anyway but I am strapped for time and I don't see it making as much money as I'd hoped for as it is.
