My children are going to hatch some eggs and my children are wondering if they can cut the bottom out of an egg carton and use it like an egg turner?

That's what I am doing now. It's my first hatch, so I am not an expert but, I cut the bottoms off of the little cups, set the eggs in (air cell up) and cut the top off th ecarton. I use the top under the cups of the cartons and tip the carton on one side, and then the next a few times a day. Seems to be working well. I have 14/14 living eggs- even after a power outage yesterday.

yes- Hovabator. No fan or anything, just the basic model. I bought a digital thermometer/hygrometer with a probe and stuck it down the hole in the top to get a better idea of the temp and humidity, but other than that, just the basic stuff. I didn't want to put a bunch of money into one, and figured it must work ok, since they have been selling them forever.
