I'm reading typical wt of guinea egg when laid is 45g. I'm curious if that's right, or if its French (Jumbo) guinea egg weight, & wondering what the norm is for those who weigh their eggs.
Someone asked if i weighed my eggs last time, and my answer was no, bc they'd been shipped.
The ones in the oven now also were shipped, and my digital scale battery was dead. I finally had a chance to get a new one yesterday and weighed them out of curiosity, and they're not that big. Granted, they were shipped on the 12th, assuming they were laid on the 11th, and this was their 5th day in incubator, so that's 9 days after laying, but if they HAD weighed that much, it wld mean they'd already lost 20%. So that can't be right.

I’ve never weighed mine. I think I have a scale somewhere....if I find it I’ll weigh some eggs. When are you supposed to weigh them? Can I get an accurate weight from a refrigerated egg or on that’s been on the counter for a week? Or does it need to be freshly weighed they day it’s laid?

It's supposed to be when laid, then prior to going in incubator then monitor every 4 days-ish to determine your humidity level. Thank you for checking when/if you have time. Just more curiosity on my part. 🤪

I did that one time, but I’d have to look up weights... I know that I was alarmed at how much weight they were losing, but I had duck eggs in there too, and they weren’t losing enough weight! So I didn’t up the humidity, guinea eggs lost a lot of weight, but they still hatched fine.

I found my scale. Now I just need to wait for one of my girls to lay an egg and hope I can find some. Haha. They have been such brats lately and changing up where they lay.

On the shoulder, in the hair, and asleep. If I did this w/the

other, it wld fly away. I checked during popsicle time early (gran's idea for celery sticks),and everyone has blue eyes.
