Egg with no shell hatched!

This article says it is possible. But how would you turn it?

Well, it is possible, but I think it would be extremely difficult to accomplish.....I'm guessing it didn't get turned?? I would love to talk to one of the students....What I wouldn't give.

I might be getting some quail eggs soon. Depending on how many I get maybe I will try this with a few. It should work the same and shorter hatch time... Or should I say birth time?

The reason eggs need to be turned is so that the yolk/embryo doesn't float and stick to the shell membrane. In this position it can't do that so the egg doesn't need to be turned.

New to chickens and not great at science by any means. But stupid question, how did they fertlize the egg in the first place?
