3 of my pullets have just started laying. 1 has not. When I went to check their nesting boxes I saw this egg on the ground. I have read it’s normal to have different eggs when they first start laying and also it could mean a calcium deficiency. I only switched them to a layer feed about a week ago when we got our first egg. None of the other eggs have had shell issues. Also all eggs have been layed in their nesting boxes except this one which was found on the ground by their water. Is it possible this egg could be from my other pullet as her first egg? Thanks

Newly laying pullets sometimes lay shell-less eggs, even if they laid a normal egg in the past. It's nothing to worry about.

One of my Lavenders laid her first two eggs like that and I found them unbroken. They were super fun to play with. Rough and mushy at the same time - a very odd combo. I just tossed them to the dog. She never laid any like that again.
