egg with no shell

    I wonder if anyone can help me, we have a chicken who has just starting laying her eggs, the problem is they have no external hard shell. Is she missing something from her diet? None of the other hens are doing this. Julie

    This is a common occurrence when pullets first begin to lay. Unless it has gone on for a long time, you probably have nothing to worry about. Just make sure they have enough calcium.

    Hens lay lots of weird eggs when they first get started. It's completely normal from what i've heard, to get misshapen eggs, or eggs with no yolk, or shell, You could try adding some calcium to her diet, but i'm sure she'll start making shells after a while....
