Egg with NO yolk?

My MOL is a cook at a diner and yesterday she cracked open an egg (about her 10 millionth) and there was no yolk. Any idea how this could happen?

Just a glitch in the bird's system...the old timers call them rooster or wind or fairy eggs.

Since she works at a diner, I'm sure the poor hen is a "producer" only.
