Hi! We have a male and female kaki campbell ducks. Our female has started laying about a month ago. She lays her one egg every night but every once in a while she will lay an egg during the day that we find laying around the yard. These eggs usually have a shell that doesn't seem fully developed, its almost like a water balloon  we haven't eaten any of these but the inside seems pretty okay. Are these edible too? Also, what is causing this? It's almost like she lays it a little early. Maybe this is just because she has started laying just recently but i would like to know. Thanks!

Yes, both ducks and chickens can lay eggs with soft or leather feeling eggs. There is not a calcium layer on the egg yet. They are perfectly safe to eat if found early. The shell tends to wither if allowed to dry off.
I tried to boil one and it ruptured in the boiling water.
