Brought my hen to the vet to treat bloating due to soft shell egg skin being stuck in her reproductive system. $250.00 later i was sent on my way with a calcium liquid, inflamation meds and amoxicillin. The vet told me 6 weeks of egg withdrawal due to the amox and inflamation meds. But cannot find anything online confirming that.

Anyone know if 6 weeks is accurate? Seems like a very long time and i hate to separate her from the flock for that long and i hate to throw out 6 weeks of eggs from all my brown egglayers in the slight chance that she does lay an egg.

Any info is appreciated!

Not knowing which type of amoxicillin was prescribed, I've read varying withdrawal periods from 2 days to 7 days maximum. The combination of inflamation meds in conjunction with the amoxicillin may require 6 weeks egg withdrawal. I recommend that you follow the vets advice.
