Hi everyone one of my hens laid an egg with out a shell. It's the first time one of them lays an egg like that. I haven't changed the food or anything I give them the same food. I give them laying pellets and for snack I give them dry corn and bread. They are also free range chickens so they are pretty much in my yard all day once they finish laying the eggs. So my question is what is wrong with my hen? What can I do to fix this problem.

Probably just an "oops" egg, but to be sure it doesn't happen again, make sure they always have access to crushed oyster shell so they get the required amount of calcium.

Need calcium. Crush up your eggs shell. Put them on cookie sheet or pizza pan. Bake for 5 mins at 350. Watch them they will burn. Then I put them in a small grinder like for nuts or onions and grind them pretty fine. Put over food about once a week. I eat 2 eggs a day and some time will hard boil a few too. My birds love them. I also put a small amount like 20 pebbles of OS on their food once a week. OS is cheap and eggs shells are free.

ETA: I have two hens and 2 pullets. 18-20 months and 32 weeks. Got my 2 SLW at 16 weeks. Started laying at 20 weeks. I just noticed last week that they have really grown since I got them. Tall and filled out not fat.

Thank you so much that is some good info I'm going to have to try that with my egg shells.

Cut out the corn and bread...provide some oyster shell in a separate container.
How old are the birds and how long have they been laying?
