Yesterday i found an egg lying on ground that was without shell and was not laid on nest, i am very confused about this, my hens do not free range and they eat layer pellets. Please help me. Thanks

It's nothing to worry about. . . And free ranging would not cause this, in fact in most cases it should make for better eggs.

It is simply the new layer trying to adjust everything in her cycle. Shell-less eggs will pop up just as double yolkers, odd shaped eggs, and perhaps even slightly off-colored eggs in the beginning.

ok thank you i thought it was due to lack of calcium in their body that is why i was curious. Thanks for replies.
