Egg yolk

This is the second time in 2 months that I've found just a hard egg yolk on the floor, as if she laid it while up on roost. What could cause this? They haven't been laying due at least 4 to 6 months. We've accepted it and I've lost track of time. 2 of them are finishing molting. They get layer fed from our co op.

Can you cut it in half and post a picture? It looks like it might be a lash egg.

A lash egg is actually pus from an infection known as salpingitis.

Not good, Identifying who it is, is rather important. I would be culling that bird, but some people treat them.

That is definitely a lash egg. You need to figure out which bird laid this, if possible. She has salpingitis. It's an infection of the reproductive tract, and it's usually fatal. Maybe not immediately, but eventually.
