Eggbound

Yes I did, but all they had was the softgel capsules. She didn't take that very easily and I didn't want to hold onto her too firmly and accidently bust the egg. I gave her what I could though. I'll get more creative in the morning. I'm thinking on how to get her to take it better.
I'd experiment LOL

See if one soft gel capsule will dissolve in water. If it will, then dissolve a capsule in a little water, make a wet mash of her feed and see if she will eat that.

If it will dissolve in water, add another to her water station. Between drinking some calcium water and eating, likely she will get enough.

I'm dense, not sure what is in a soft gel capsule, can it be cut open is it liquid or like gummy bear consistency? If it can be cut into little pieces, she may just gobble those down. My Coturnix are greedy little things, anything that looks like a piece of food or if it's edible, they snarf it.

I absolutely agree, trying to open the beak or even syringe something into them - a nightmare. Better they eat or drink it on their own. I had one that had a pecked eye that I needed to treat, my goodness 🤣 Chickens are a lot easier, that's all I can say!

It has a thick, sticky center so not so easy to mix into water. I tried that. I put it in a syringe the best I could and just gooped it on her beak to irritate her enough to eat some. She's not wanting much from what I can tell but I'm also trying to leave her alone. I made her scrambled eggs and she wanted none of that. She'd rather stand in her water bowl than drink from it. I think she's so stressed now she doesn't know what to do. She's probably missing her friends too because even with them she was still running around them but wide legged. Lol you're right, chickens are way easier. 😆 button quail are even harder.

How is she doing?
It's right there wanting to come out but I think the egg is bigger than her pelvic bone. On the second picture my fingers are touching each side of the egg.

@Nabiki what do you think? The egg is in the abdomen or still in the reproductive tract?

I lean toward it being in the abdomen, especially since it's been a few days now and she's pooping.
I would tend to agree, but I'm not a vet. At this point, I would get the bird to a vet or cull her. If that egg isn't coming out, she's in for a slow, painful death.

I think she's pooping because the egg is too big to up far enough. It has moved farther to the vent yesterday and easier to touch but I can't get my finger around it easily without her bleeding. I don't want my finger to puncture something.

She needs a vet to do surgery. The vet would probably carefully break the egg and bring it out in pieces (I could be completely wrong on this), but this is not something you want to try on your own.

Since you've mentioned that a vet is not an option, I would recommend that you cull. She is going to die a slow, painful death otherwise.
